Peak Rescue

Alongside pre-hospital medicine expertise, our volunteer doctors have a vast range of skills. Dr Chris Press, our Clinical Lead, has more than 10 years’ mountain rescue experience that he was able to put to good use to help this patient.

EMICS was called alongside East Midlands Ambulance Service and Edale Mountain Rescue to assist a climber who has his leg stuck in a crack. A combination of pre-hospital care and mountain rescue experience allowed Chris to perform a rope rescue with excellent analgesia. This patient was lowered to the ground safely and comfortably and was then discharged from scene.
