Our Support Team

Our front-line doctors and paramedics are supported by a remarkable team of volunteers who keep EMICS running, manage equipment and ensure compliance and good governance.

Our Trustees

Our trustees are responsible for the strategic direction and good governance of the charity. They give their time freely alongside their other commitments.

Dr Matt Woods

Chairman

Matt specialises in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and has been responding for EMICS since 2011.

Dr Ben Coyle

Vice Chairman

Ben is a GP who responds for EMICS in Leicestershire.

Mary Boothroyd

Secretary

Mary is a retired FE lecturer and PA. She first became aware of RACS (as it was then) in 1989 when one of their doctors attended her husband following a cycling accident.

Dr Peter Holden

Trustee

Peter is a GP in Matlock; he is currently Treasurer of the British Medical Association.

Dr Tim Baker

Clinical Director

Tim is a GP who responds for EMICS in Nottingham. He is also the County Medical Officer in Notts for St John Ambulance.

Ian Johnson

Strategic Lead

Ian is a Paramedic who lives in Leicestershire; he works in the Private Ambulance Arena and Pre-Hospital Care. He is Medical Advisor to Silverstone and a member of BASICS and Motorsport UK.

Management & Support Team

A wider team of volunteers handle the day-to-day operations of EMICS — coordinating responders, managing kit and consumables, organising events, supporting recruitment and looking after compliance.
