EMICS: advanced pre-hospital care for the East Midlands — our commitment to the patients, communities and partners we serve.
EMICS: Advanced Pre-Hospital Care
We provide critical medical interventions at the scene of emergencies across the East Midlands. Our volunteer doctors and paramedics are equipped and trained to deliver hospital-level care, improving patient outcomes and supporting the NHS.
Our purpose
EMICS exists to save lives and prevent life-changing injuries by bringing advanced medical care to people at the scene of an emergency — free of charge to the NHS and to those we help.
Our people
We are committed to supporting our volunteer doctors, paramedics, support team and fundraisers, fostering an inclusive, respectful environment in which everyone can contribute to our life-saving mission. We follow GMC and HCPC professional standards and uphold robust safeguarding, EDI and clinical governance practices — see our Clinical Governance and Policies page for the detail.
Our community
We're proud to serve communities right across the East Midlands — Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire — and to be accountable to the donors, partners and supporters who make our work possible.
Our impact
Each year EMICS volunteers respond to over a thousand emergencies, treating 25+ patients each week and arriving first on scene in roughly one in five call-outs. We've now responded to over 50,000 emergencies in our history. Our full Social Impact Assessment captures the breadth and depth of that contribution.
