A Lincolnshire family donated £700 to EMICS through donations made in memory of Margaret Haresign, who sadly died in August 2024.
Geoff Haresign, Margaret’s husband, described the work of EMICS as ‘truly inspiring’ and a ‘tremendous asset to the communities across East Midlands’.
Geoff said: “Through the generosity of our wonderful friends and family who donated the money in memory of Margaret, I am pleased to forward this onto EMICS in support of the invaluable life-saving work they do.”
Ian Haresign, the son of Geoff and Margaret, said: “as a senior clinician within the NHS myself, I know only too well the pressures the NHS is under, and the ambulance service is no exception.”
“Having worked in the pre-hospital sector, I know what a huge difference enhanced and critical care can make to patient outcomes. Having the expertise and dedication of these specialist clinicians in Lincolnshire, as well as Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire, will be a huge asset to the community and is simply inspiring. I’m pleased we are able make this donation in memory of our mum and play a small role in supporting this amazing charity.”
Roger Linnell, EMICS Operations Manager, paid a special visit to say thank you to the family.
Dr Tim Gray MBE, Founder of EMICS said “We are incredibly grateful to Geoff, Ian, and their family and friends for this generous donation in memory of Margaret. Their support will directly help our volunteer doctors and paramedics continue delivering life-saving care when it is needed most – providing advanced medical interventions at the scene of accidents, heart attacks, and other life-threatening incidents.
“This contribution will help us equip our team with essential medical supplies, maintain life-saving equipment, and ensure we can continue serving communities across the East Midlands.”
“Margaret’s legacy will live on through the lives saved, and we are honored to receive this support in her name.”
